Beautiful traditional handwoven tenun fabrics made by the wives and mothers of ex shark fishermen on the island of Alor, Indonesia. These women used to be responsible for processing and selling the Thresher shark meat at the local market. Thanks to the hard work of Thresher Shark Project Indonesia, the villages they belong to no longer engage in shark fishing and are now involved in alternative livelihood programs.
The production of these beautiful handwoven fabrics are one of the alternative livelihood programs set up to support the women. 100% of sales from each of these stunning fabric decor pieces will be donated to continue to support the work of Thresher Shark Project Indonesia as they expand their conservation work into other regions of Indonesia.
